Health Equity Scholars Tour Wilcox County

WCAAHEC and UAB Health Equity Scholars

This honor group of pediatric residents are part of an initiative led by Drs. Morissa Ladinsky, Chrystal Rutledge, Madhura Hallman. Through a longitudinal 3 year adventure with UAB Pediatrics, they are deep diving the antecedents of Alabama’s (and of course the nation’s) health disparities to understand the barriers to health equity and be the agents of change for tomorrow’s kids. They are a super diverse group, predominantly doctors of color, who are passionate about social justice, dismantling the barriers of systemic racism, implicit bias and social determinants of health.
