Goldenrod Outreach Initiative

(July 2023-June 2027)

West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center is the recipient organization of the Rural Health Network Development grant—a multi-year initiative that addresses the impediments of services for prevention, treatment, and long-term management of those at risk for diabetes and heart disease. The program, better known as the Goldenrod Outreach (GO) Initiative, works toward the Health Resources and Human Services’ goal of increasing services for prevention, treatment, and long-term management among those at risk for diabetes and heart disease in rural Alabama.

Goldenrod Outreach is supported through HRSA’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. Goldenrod Outreach serves the counties of Choctaw, Clarke, Escambia, Marengo, Monroe and Sumter.
