Health Professions Academy (HPA) is administered through The West Central Alabama Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS). HPA aims to provide students in grades 9-12 with an opportunity to participate in a competitive academic enrichment program designed for students interested in health careers. Students have the opportunity take college courses for credit, meet practicing professionals, and recruiters from schools of health professions.

- Opportunity to network with healthcare providers in rural Alabama
